There is so much information out there about what we're 'meant' to be doing or not doing when it comes to our health, fitness & wellbeing-related goals... it can be a minefield, not knowing what or who to trust! And it doesn't help that the majority of info and advice is based on cisgender male bodies...
So, in today's episode, I thought I'd bust some myths & misconceptions, centering the experience & nuances of women & women of colour:
Myth #1: You need a gym membership to be fit
Myth #2: Exercise alone is enough for a 'healthy' lifestyle
Myth #3: Cardio is the only way to lose weight
Myth #4: Lifting weights will make you bulky
Myth #5: You need to drastically cut your calories to lose weight
Myth #6: Spot reduction of body fat is possible
Myth #7: If you're not sore, you didn't work out hard enough
Myth #8: "No Pain, No Gain"
Myth #9: Mediterranean diets are THE most "healthy"
Myth #10: You shouldn't exercise during pregnancy
