About this episode
Cathy, Kirsten, and I kick off this year’s book club with Separation of Church and Hate by John Fugelsang. This book opened up a deep conversation around how Paul reinterpreted Christianity in the Bible, and how that’s shaped much of what we see in modern religion. We also explore the disconnect between the teachings of Jesus and God. Love, compassion, and inclusion and the harmful messages often directed at women and the LGBTQ+ community. There were inconsistencies we couldn’t ignore, and this episode is all about unpacking those questions with honesty and curiosity.
