New York, was the first to host the first presidential inauguration of the first champion for CHAPLAINS —George Washington. Now, quite honorably, New York is the home of the first school chaplain-graduate from the National School Chaplain Association! New York is known for being the first in epic categories. The first United States Capital and the first premier financial center (NYSE and Nasdaq). Innovations sprang forth like the Otis elevators and the first passenger steamboat, to name only a few of many more that made America great. For innovation and leadership of such a world renown epicenter to continue and survive requires vision and inspiration, which starts at school. This is why school chaplaincy is so critical. Faith based support has shown to increase confidence, interpersonal relationships, creativity, mutual respect, productivity, stewardship of property, love for country, merit-based work ethics, joy hope and peace. These foundations have been slipping in recent years, but are critical for an atmosphere for ingenuity, academic successes and a stable and thriving society.
