IN POLITICAL NEWS 1) While it's early, it appears that the artificial "outrage" over the shooting of the MN would-be car murderer failed to achieve liftoff. Not that they ain't trying. There is a big protest organized by the Socialists in NYC here; and as Roger Kimball argues here, the cold in part tamped down protests in many blue cities. Let them eat icicles. There were "tens of thousands" of marchers in MN, demanding "We won't stop til it's 1793." Apparently devoid of any historical understanding, 1793 was the year the "Reign of Terror" began in France, where, after a few nobles were separated from their cranial cavities, guess who the Committee on Public Safety came for? Yep. The very "revolutionaries" like Robespierre who started the bloodshed. Oh, and who was left standing?
