Welcome to episode 1, everybody. We are going to use the first few episodes to introduce the hosts to our listeners.This interview is going to be with the Appalachian War Wizard himself, Dakota Maynard.Before the Marine Corps, Dakota grew up in rural East Tennessee where he was a full participant in all things Appalachia. Dakota would go on to serve in the Marine Corps for four years from 2011 - 2015 as a combat engineer. He later obtained a bachelor's degree in geographic information science with a minor in weather and climate from the University of Oklahoma, and has since been an avid studier of the planet from the GIS lens.
