Why do we force kids to learn Calculus and Pythagorean theorem instead of personal finance and how to do taxes? Wouldn't it be better to have general high school education force kids to learn things that every adult member of society has to do in their life at one point or the other? Shouldn't specialized classes like Calculus and Latin be offered as electives? Has forced reading of classic novels turned us off to reading for enjoyment/fulfillment?
