Mariel Hemingway is the Founder and President of the Mariel Hemingway Foundation and the host of the hit podcast Out Comes the Sun. For more than 20 years, Mariel has worked intensely in the mental health and wellness space, engaging with leading therapists, treatment centers, researchers, and individuals navigating mental illness. Through firsthand experience, she has seen the frustration many people face when trying to determine where to go, which treatment to try, and whom to trust. That experience led her to found the Mariel Hemingway Foundation, a compassionate resource navigator for individuals and communities seeking real, practical mental health solutions tailored to their unique needs.
Melissa Yamaguchi is the Co-Founder and Vice President of the Mariel Hemingway Foundation and the Co-Host of Out Comes the Sun. She has twice served as a judge for the Global Best Entrepreneurial Leadership Event sponsored by UCLA’s Anderson School of Business. Melissa is also the author of the Huffington Post blog Own Your Energy, Own Your Life, and has spent over 20 years lecturing around the world on balance and personal alignment through the 4,000-year-old practice of Feng Shui. Her TED Talk, Beyond Vision and Purpose, explores how understanding our choices shapes the lives we lead.
Out Comes the Sun is Mariel Hemingway’s podcast dedicated to mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. Each week, Mariel and Melissa welcome industry experts, professionals, and advocates to share stories, treatments, tools, and perspectives — both well-known and newly emerging — that support healthier, more balanced lives.
