What happens when our traditions collide with God's presence? Today in Numbers, we see the ritual of the Red Heifer and a tragic moment at Meribah: Moses strikes the rock in anger instead of speaking to it, a choice that carries a heavy cost. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus is questioned about fasting and the Sabbath, famously declaring that "the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath" and demonstrating that doing good is always lawful.Today’s Scripture:📖 Numbers 19–21:3 – The laws for purification lead into the death of Miriam and the crisis of water in the wilderness. Moses’ disobedience at the rock results in God's decree that he will not lead the people into the Promised Land. We also witness the passing of Aaron and the first victories over the Canaanites.📖 Luke 5:33–6:11 – Jesus explains why His disciples feast while others fast, using the imagery of new wine in old wineskins.
