About this episode
We are well into NaPodPoMo. By this time friends, family, and coworkers may begin reaching out to you since you may not have been around as much lately. Be prepared for the puzzled looks on their faces when you tell them you’ve joined a 30-day podcasting challenge called NaPodPoMo. More often than not you’ll get a response similar to this, “You’re doing what?” Welcome to the official National Podcast Post Month podcast for the 16th annual global podcast challenge. I am your host and the founder of NaPodPoMo, Jennifer Navarrete. This podcast is presented in two segments. The first segment is a guide for podcasters participating in National Podcast Post Month. The second segment is the behind-the-scenes of how this particular podcast is coming together using Podcasting 2.0’s Live Item Tag done through Blubrry’s PowerPress plugin. Up until this point you’ve been in a bit of a silo. But now the world outside of NaPodPoMo is demanding your time and attention. Perhaps family and friends are bewildered by your dedication to this challenge. When you talk about intros and outs and show notes, RSS feeds they look at you like you are speaking Klingon. And for those outside of the podcasting world, you might as well be. Let me tell you that you are not alone. This inability for the world outside the NaPodPoMo bubble to understand why you are so enthusiastic and committed to the monthlong challenge is..well..challenging. This is why staying connected with your fellow NaPodPoMo podcast challengers is important. Whether that is by listening to the NaPodPoMo 2023 MEGA Feed or inside the FB group, Hive Community, Twitter/X community or simply using the hashtag on any social media platform to share your NaPodPoMo journey with others. For 14 years we connected on places like Meetup, Ning, and Facebook. Which worked quite well. Then last year for the 15th annual NaPodPoMo I was approached by Alessandra White who offered to host a one hour version of Creative Work Hour for NaPodPoMo. We’d never done daily live support sessions before, but I liked the idea. So we gave it a whirl. These daily sessions were a great way for me to answer first-time podcaster questions, offer encouragement live, and get to know folks in a way which hadn’t been possible before. Which is why Creative Work Hour is back offering live support sessions. It’s been a wonderful collaboration and one I know you’ll find value in too. You can join us daily all month long from 9:00am-9:50am ET. We talk tech, mics, sound, environment, music, hosting, co-hosts, guests, and just about anything else that pops up during the free flow conversations. We discuss podcast challenges and celebrate podcast wins. So feel free to add your voice to the conversation. Because even if the rest of the world doesn’t get your NaPodPoMo podcasting interest, we totally do. Now onto the second part of the episode where
