UNPOPULAR OPINION: He Probably Wants To, But Isn't... [& How THAT Challenge Becomes Your Strength]

Is the racial wealth gap in America occurring due to a lack of desire?  Of course not. It's occurring due to the complex challenges black families face while navigating life before, during, and after systemic racism and oppression.  Contrary to what the superficial pop psychologists of the internet would have you believe, action does not indicate desire.  When you want to create something new (an increase in income, an elevation in lifestyle, a positive outcome in relationships), you will face challenges.  Fear. Doubt. Worry. Guilt. Shame.  The journey to your desire is a journey from where you are, through those negative feelings, to the experience you want.  In other words, the journey to your desire is an emotional one.  It is very possible that he wants to love you and be with you… and he's not acting on that desire.
