Sunrise was at 6:44 AM, sunset comes at 5:34 PM, so you've got good daylight for an afternoon session. **Recent Action** Word from the charter boats shows calico bass are firing right now. One recent trip landed 40 calicos released and 12 keepers, plus solid action on bonito, sand bass, yellowtail, and whitefish. That's the mix you want to target today. **Best Baits & Lures** Live ghost shrimp and frozen mackerel are your go-to baits—shops like Norm's Big Fish in the area are stocked up. For artificials, swimbaits are absolutely crushing it around SoCal right now. Light tackle with bottom fishing techniques will give you the sensitivity you need on the calicos.
