Christopher Carter and Alan Saunders discuss why it's a good idea to give Jones the option -- if his neck will be healed by next season -- and why it's a key part of their rebuild plan. Omar Khan's rebuild started with Jones and continued with major investments in the trenches like Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier, Derrick Harmon and Keeanu Benton. Jones being kept on the option wouldn't be too expensive compared to NFL left tackle salary rates, and would keep them from reinvesting draft capital in offensive tackle and allow them to invest at other key positions like wide receiver, cornerback, safety, and eventually quarterback. Also, Chris and Alan discuss why the Steelers' young nucleus of players still on rookie contracts is one of the best such groups in the NFL.
