About this episode
LSU didn’t play a clean game early Tuesday night, but the Tigers found the spark they needed before SEC play begins. After falling behind 4-2, Omar Serna blasted a 455-foot grand slam into the trees beyond left-center to flip the game and lift LSU to an 8-4 win over Creighton at Alex Box Stadium.
The real turning point came on the mound. Deven Sheerin delivered 2.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts to stop Creighton’s momentum and energize the Tigers. Santiago Garcia followed with 2.2 dominant shutout innings, showcasing a mid-90s fastball and sharp breaking ball while escaping a bases-loaded threat in the seventh.
Jake Brown added his ninth homer of the season for insurance as LSU closed out the win.
