Rowan Ricardo Phillips is an acclaimed American poet and writer. He’s the author of several books, including the poetry collection “Silver”, which was a finalist for the National Book Award, and “I Just Want Them To Remember Me: Black Baseball In America”. He is also the author of the poetry collections The Ground, Heaven, Living Weapon and When Blackness Rhymes With Blackness. He’s also a sportswriter and he wrote The Circuit: A Tennis Odyssey about the 2017 pro tour, and a book about Roberto Clemente. He is the recipient of an Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He’s the poetry editor of “The New Republic”. And he is a Professor of English at Stony Brook University.
