Bill Graham and Sid Bernstein were two of the greatest and most important rock music promoters of the 1960s. Bill Graham had two legendary theaters, the Fillmore West in San Francisco and the Fillmore East in New York City. He introduced and cultivated so many of the major stars of the era including Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Country Joe and the Fish, and the Grateful Dead on the west coast, and Blood Sweat & Tears, the Allman Brothers and The Band on the east coast.Sid Bernstein was the promoter who was responsible for The Beatles performing at Shea Stadium in New York City in 1965. He also brought the Stones, the Kinks, the Moody Blues and Herman’s Hermits to America.
