We sit down for a blunt, text-driven walk through Christian Zionism, covenant theology, and Romans 9–11, asking a question that keeps dividing Christians: can you honestly claim God maintains a separate covenant with national Israel after the New Covenant of Jesus Christ? We start with the frameworks many of us inherited, dispensationalism, pre-trib rapture charts, “1948 as prophecy,” and the assumption that God will “go back” to Israel for a final seven years. Then we put the claim under Scripture. We dig into Matthew 5 and Romans 10 on fulfillment, show why Isaiah 42 and Isaiah 49 already point to the Servant as a covenant and a light to the nations, and argue that the Gentiles were never a plan B. One of the most surprising moments is the Hosea 2 and John 4 connection, where the Samaritan woman’s “five husbands” becomes a key to understanding Samaria, the lost tribes, and what Christ is doing through the New Covenant. From there, we confront uncomfortable passages that modern Christians often avoid: Matthew 21’s vineyard parable and the kingdom being taken and given, Matthew 23’s “full measure” of sin, John 8 on spiritual fatherhood, and Revelation’s warnings about those who claim covenant identity while opposing Christ’s Church. We also pivot into the “angel of the Lord” debate and why many early Christians read Old Testament theophanies as appearances of the pre-incarnate Christ. If you care about Israel and the Church, biblical interpretation, Catholic teaching, and the difference between political Zionism and Christian Zionism, this conversation is meant to sharpen you, not soothe you.
